An hour or two of inspiration goes a long way.  Last week I squeezed in a little time to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the latest show from the Costume Institute. It is called “Heavenly Bodies” and was inspired by the vestments of the Catholic Church.

Every now and then I find a bath that resonates with me.  The pink bath in this image is one of those “vintage” images that is all too familiar to those of us of a certain age. In fact, when we founded Waterworks 40 years ago, there were countless baths that looked just like this and many were far worse.

In mid-March I was in London visiting our showroom, our Waterworks team and clients (and also hoping for warmer weather that simply did not happen). However, the sun did eventually shine and I was out and about looking for inspiration. It’s interesting to note what catches your eye in the moment, and how that changes once you’ve returned home. When I reviewed my photos, it is clear that I was attracted to color in London — in the shops, in the Hayward Gallery and on the street. Bright and happy reds, pinks, greens and blues seem to dominate the spring palette, from the skirts and vests on display at local shops to the flora and fauna on the street.

I thought I would do a little shameless promotion and tell you about Waterworks’ newest catalog, New Icons. We have reintroduced some our of longtime favorite collections and introduced several new ones that we’re sure will become beloved go-tos. New Icons is a quite a large book with multiple categories (fittings, hardware, lighting and surfaces) — 94 pages, all enhanced with great photography by Gentl and Hyers and Sloan Howard.
