I thought I would do a little shameless promotion and tell you about Waterworks’ newest catalog, New Icons. We have reintroduced some our of longtime favorite collections and introduced several new ones that we’re sure will become beloved go-tos. New Icons is a quite a large book with multiple categories (fittings, hardware, lighting and surfaces) — 94 pages, all enhanced with great photography by Gentl and Hyers and Sloan Howard.

As I begin my own kitchen remodel (the first in many, many years), I’ve been thinking quite a bit about kitchens. Selecting cabinets should come first, but I have chosen to focus on the thing I know best and use most: the kitchen sink.

Nothing about a kitchen renovation is exactly quick. Planning takes time. Selecting products thoughtfully takes time. Assembling and checking the order takes time, and is as essential as hiring the contractor. Interviews need to be scheduled, contracts reviewed and a project plan created.
