As I begin my own kitchen remodel (the first in many, many years), I’ve been thinking quite a bit about kitchens. Selecting cabinets should come first, but I have chosen to focus on the thing I know best and use most: the kitchen sink.

Nearly as important as the way a bath tub looks is the fact that it needs to be filled efficiently and conveniently. There are two options that work when the tub is large enough (70 gallons or more); each delivers a vigorous flow of water quickly.

I was recently asked what I would do in my master bath if there was not room for both a tub and a shower. Would I consider showering in the tub?  The answer is a resounding NO. And my rationale was confirmed the other night when I stayed in a hotel in Boston where I had to shower in the tub.

Whether brass, nickel, architectural bronze, textured, knurled, large or small, round or square, organic, modern or traditional, hardware attracts the eye and allows for an immediate impression of the statement your design makes.
