I had been thinking about going to Cuba for awhile, but did not act on my impulse until a chance meeting at our Waterworks Kitchen showroom with designer Todd Klein, who mentioned a trip he was taking to Cuba. That short visit catapulted me into action to sign up the with the Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation/Design Leadership Network tour to Cuba that took place in early June for six days. What a great decision.

There is much inspiration to be found on the newsstands this fall. In the October 2015 issue of Architectural Digest, be sure to flip to the bath that Nate Berkus, the hip and talented young designer, created for his own house. I was immediately attracted to the book-matched stone feature wall.

At this time of year, we take out our crystal ball and start thinking about a fresh and updated direction for bath in the year ahead. Fashion is always a driver of trends. Textured and printed fabrics as well colors change seasonally so we try to extract interior design ideas from that world and incorporate them into a rational for the bath.
