My choice of a holiday image this year announces the opening of our London showroom in Spring 2014. Our location on Kings Road, next door to the neighborhood pub and adjacent to many other design businesses, finds us in the heart of an area of individual creative home goods shops and near Chelsea Harbor. We are very excited about our new venture and hope you will stop in to visit when you are in London.

Privet House is one of my favorite shops for home accessories. From table linens, vases, trays and cutting boards to an occasional scarf and fabulous vintage finds, there is always something tempting for yourself or your hostess. The shop has recently moved from the hamlet of Warren, CT to the stylish village of New Preston to join other delightful independently-owned stores. Each one has its own personality with an ever-changing assortment of wonderful things.  With the holiday bearing down on us all, I took some photos of what it is like to shop in beautifully stocked and merchandised places where the sales associates are mature, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

There is an umbrella of sadness over this holiday season. However, this shining light on top of the Rockefeller Christmas tree is a symbol of brighter days to come. With its 25,000 Swarovski crystals and 1 million facets, a lovely combination of art and science spreads its light over midtown wishing all a Happy Holiday.
