The Candide bathtub along with two barrel stools unify as one elegant piece of sculpture in this bath by Beth Webb. The burnished exterior of the tub and the silver tones of the stools create a warm and inviting space. The gentle arch of the windows is harmonious with the gentle dip in the rim of the tub. Long curtains soften the space and the floor adds warmth. This is a lovely combination of materials and surfaces, architectural details and the advantages of natural light.

It seems that we see more traditional baths published than modern ones.  I was very pleased to see an example of the Waterworks modern .25 tub in AtHome magazine recently. This particular house has traditional elements, but the tub seems right at home.  The right choice of materials, artfully layered, as well as beautiful textures and art make this a cohesive design.

I could not resist posting this vintage and eclectic bath from a recent issue of Elle Decor. It makes a bold yet classic design statement, especially with the box floor design and the scale of  of the tub with its grand feet. The wall covering continues the color palette from the floor in warm yellow with a touch of terra cotta. The taste of the owner is reflected in the prints on the walls simply framed. Practical  storage considerations were solved with  baskets neatly placed on an antique piece of furniture.

I like to write about public baths, though it is often difficult to find ones worthy of publication for The Perfect Bath Blog. The ladies room in the Waterworks Los Angeles showroom is an exception.  It conforms to California code for handicap access while using product found in our assortment. The traditional Maritime honed Carrara washstand is a simple interpretation of a 1920’s wall hung lavatory, available in custom sizes.
