The Empire tub is a Waterworks icon.  It has been used in modern and traditional spaces and becomes a chameleon depending on the design of the interior. Its shape and scale were inspired by 19th century French and English fire clay tubs.

On my recent trip to San Francisco to celebrate the opening of our new Waterworks showroom, I decided to take a little extra time to visit SFMoMA and experience their new 10-story building and galleries designed by the international architecture firm of Snohetta.

In 2010 Peter Sallick wrote a guest post for TPB about his love affair with his outdoor shower. As long as the temperature was above freezing, he headed outdoors every morning, rain or shine, to experience the simplicity of showering in an outdoor environment surrounded by hydrangeas, tall grasses and a big buddleia.
